ree

Cheyenne Dusing of Bunker Hill, West Virginia, is a 5’8” shooting guard whose speed and shooting touch make her a dangerous offensive weapon. She has spent the offseason improving her release time and sharpening her quickness, making her a more efficient scorer and a more disruptive defender. With her dedication and skill, she’s preparing to become a consistent threat on both ends of the floor for Musselman High School.

Off the court, Cheyenne demonstrates the discipline needed to succeed as a student-athlete. She balances her schoolwork by staying present and focused in class while dedicating time before and after practice to study. Her goals this season include becoming a more consistent shooter, faster on defense, and a smarter overall player. With AAU chemistry carrying over to her school team and new opportunities to build bonds with teammates, Cheyenne is ready to step into a bigger role this season.

Q: How have you improved your game recently?

Cheyenne: “It’s helped me to get faster and I have developed a quicker shot release.”

Q: How do you handle school responsibilities alongside sports?

Cheyenne: “Staying focused and present on school while I’m there is important. I give 100% effort and attention to the things I am engaged in at that time. I try to study also before and after practice/workouts.”

Q: What goals are you working toward this year?

Cheyenne: “I’ve set a goal to be more of a consistent shooter and quicker on defense. I’ve been putting up more shots in practice/training and working on my footwork and conditioning.”

Q: How’s the team chemistry coming along?

Cheyenne: “Several of our players play on the same AAU club and we have a pretty good feel for each other. We are working on building that same chemistry with others who didn’t play AAU.”

Q: What game are you looking forward to most?

Cheyenne: “Millbrook — we didn’t get to play them last season and I have a few friends and past teammates that play for them.”

Cheyenne’s speed, vision, and high basketball IQ make her a key piece in Musselman’s bright future.
