At 5’10”, Lauryn Walker is one of Georgia’s most versatile and dynamic players in the Class of 2027. A guard/forward for Brunswick High School, Lauryn has built a reputation as a consistent performer in every setting. Her resume is packed with MVP honors at elite events, including the Dawn Staley Elite Individual Camp, the Florida Brawl, the Beast of the East, the July Jamboree, and multiple skill development showcases across the Southeast. This summer, she stood out with the Brunswick High Lady Pirates at the Jungle Team Camp, Golden Isles Shootout, and Summer in the Swamp, all while continuing to anchor her AAU team, Southeast United. With her ability to defend, score, and lead across multiple positions, Lauryn is already a proven difference-maker — and her hard work has earned her an early offer from Allen University, making her a 4-Star Prospect on National Radar.
Off the court, Lauryn is equally impressive. Carrying a 4.2 GPA through her dual enrollment program at the Coastal College of Georgia, she balances academics, athletics, and a full slate of responsibilities with focus and discipline. She has also secured a sponsorship with P.U.R.E. Performance Water, showcasing her growing brand as a student-athlete. Lauryn is active in her church and committed to volunteer service in her community, including working at a youth mental health facility. Recognized by the Congress of Future Medical Doctors and Scientists at UMass, she is proof that success in the classroom, community, and on the court can go hand in hand. Driven by her long-term goal of becoming a McDonald’s All-American and competing at the NCAA level, Lauryn’s leadership, discipline, and relentless consistency make her one of the most complete student-athletes in the country.
Q: How has your offseason training translated onto the court?
Lauryn: “My offseason training has really translated into my game by helping me stand out consistently in every setting. Over the last two years, I’ve stood out at the Dawn Staley Elite Individual Camp and earned MVP honors at multiple events with my AAU team, Southeast United. I’ve also been named MVP at the Beast of the East, July Jamboree, War Games, and the Full Court Skillz Camp. This summer with Brunswick High, I stood out at the Jungle Team Camp, Golden Isles Shootout, and Summer in the Swamp.”
Q: How do you balance school, training, and basketball?
Lauryn: “Balancing school, training, and my sport has been a challenge, but I’ve learned to stay disciplined and organized. Even with a busy summer schedule, I kept academics a top priority. I’m in dual enrollment at the Coastal College of Georgia with a 4.2 GPA, work as a lifeguard, raise my dogs, volunteer at a youth mental health facility, and stay grounded in my faith.”
Q: What personal goals are you working toward this season?
Lauryn: “This season, I want to continue being a leader for younger players, work toward becoming a McDonald’s All-American, and ultimately earn the opportunity to play NCAA basketball. To do that, I stay locked in academically, put in extra reps, and surround myself with coaches and teammates who push me to be better.”
Q: How is your team chemistry coming together?
Lauryn: “Our team is coming together really well. Coach Mangram and her staff push us hard in the weight room, on the stairs, and on the court. Everyone is buying in, holding each other accountable, and you can already see the chemistry building.”
Q: What games are you most looking forward to this year?
Lauryn: “I’m most looking forward to every matchup that gets us closer to our goal of winning the 5A state championship. I respect every opponent, but if you’re not wearing blue and gold, we’re coming to compete, have fun, and leave with the win.”
With her leadership, academic excellence, and relentless drive, Lauryn Walker is on the fast track to becoming one of the most decorated athletes in Georgia basketball and a player destined for the next level.
