In one of the most exciting matchups of the season, the Lytle Pirates, led by Head Coach Mike Trevino, held the lead until the final minute of play before the Crystal City Javelinas stormed back to claim victory.
With the game on the line, Javelinas quarterback Christopher Mena broke free for a 20-yard touchdown run, sealing the dramatic win in the closing seconds. Both teams displayed grit, heart, and excellent coaching from start to finish, making it a contest to remember for both programs and their fans.
Coach Battle has his Crystal City Javelinas rolling this season with an impressive 8-1 record, maintaining first place in the district. Meanwhile, the Lytle Pirates fall to 4-5, but continue to show growth and competitiveness under Coach Trevino’s leadership.
