Coach Jarome Bell: Guiding Parma High to the Boise Dream Football Classic

Parma High School’s football team, under the leadership of Coach Jarome Bell, is set to make its mark at the Boise Dream Football Classic, hosted at the prestigious Albertsons Stadium, home of Boise State University. For Coach Bell, this opportunity is not just about the game; it's a culmination of years of dedication, mentorship, and passion for high school football.

A Journey Fueled by Passion and Purpose

Coach Bell’s journey into coaching is rooted in a deep commitment to youth mentorship. With 23 years of experience at the high school level, Bell has worn many hats—Assistant Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, and Offensive Coordinator. His coaching career began not just as a profession, but as a calling to positively impact the lives of young men, including his own three sons.

"I started coaching my boys and other kids who needed a male role model," Bell recalls. "I found out that many kids need mentors—someone they can depend on and confide in. I became that person for many young men, and it just started to become my passion to see someone I helped thrive and become good citizens in society, great fathers and husbands, great players, and maybe one day, great coaches."

Bell’s influence stretches far beyond the X's and O's on the field. His focus on character development, life skills, and leadership has left a lasting impact on the countless young men he has mentored throughout his career.

A Wealth of Experience

Currently in his second year at Parma High School, Coach Bell brings a wealth of experience from various coaching roles across the Virginia Hampton Roads/Tidewater area. His impressive resume includes serving as the Head Coach for the inaugural program at Snellville Christian Academy in Georgia, as well as pivotal roles at multiple high schools in Virginia. From being the Offensive Coordinator at Norfolk Christian High School and Booker T. Washington High to the Defensive Coordinator at Norview High School and Atlantic Shores High, Bell’s experience is extensive and diverse. This broad background has equipped him with a unique perspective on team dynamics, player development, and strategic gameplay, all of which he is now channeling into the Parma Panthers football program.

Building a Team and a Culture

As Parma High prepares for the upcoming season, Coach Bell’s goals for his team are clear: "Continue to get better as a team, win some games, stay healthy, and raise our football IQ." These objectives reflect his holistic approach to coaching, where success is not merely measured by the scoreboard but by the growth and development of his players both on and off the field.

For Coach Bell, a successful season isn’t just about winning—it’s about retention, resilience, and commitment. "A successful season for us this year would be to at least finish the season with the same players that started the season. Not lose one player to someone quitting, and for everyone to stay engaged if the season gets tough," Bell emphasizes.

The Excitement of the Dream Football Classic

Playing at Albertsons Stadium is a milestone moment for Parma High’s football team. The opportunity to compete in such a renowned venue is a dream come true for many of the players, and it carries special significance for Coach Bell and his staff.

"The team is excited to be able to play there. For some, it is a dream come true and a lifetime story for their family for decades to come. For a few others, we are hoping this is just a preview for them after their high school career is over," says Bell, highlighting the pride and anticipation surrounding the event.

Looking Ahead

As the Boise Dream Football Classic approaches, Coach Bell and the Parma Panthers are not just preparing for a game—they are preparing to create memories, build character, and showcase the fruits of their hard work and dedication. With Coach Bell at the helm, the team is not only striving for success on the field but also aiming to grow as individuals who are ready to take on whatever challenges life throws their way.

For Parma High School, the upcoming season under Coach Jarome Bell is more than just football—it's about building a legacy of excellence, both in sports and in life.
